On Campus Employment

International students are only allowed to work 20 hours per week during Fall, Winter and Spring quarter and must be registered for classes. During vacation (winter and summer breaks), students who will be continuing enrollment at the university the following quarter, are allowed to work 40 hours per week.

ELIGIBILITY
  1. Must be in F-1 / J-1 status
  2. Must be in good academic standing (including a minimum 2.0 GPA for undergraduates, 3.0 GPA for graduates)
  3. Must be currently enrolled and registered for classes
  4. Students are only allowed to work 20 hours per week during Fall, Winter and Spring quarter
  5. Students working on campus may not work off campus at the same time
  6. Must be authorized by Center for International Studies and Programs
PROCEDURES

BEFORE YOU REQUEST ON-CAMPUS EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
  1. Review the Eligibility Requirements
  2. Complete a Request for Documentation form
  3. Complete the NRA Employment Documentation form
  4. Print out both forms
  5. Turn in the completed forms to CISP office at UH-235 (authorization will take 5 days to process)
WHAT TO DO AFTER YOUR PERMIT IS APPROVED

NOTE: If you need a Social Security Number, please apply for a social security letter at the same time.
